03 Jun Hope for community, for health, and for the future
A message to All of Us program participants from Dr. Josh Denny, Chief Executive Officer, All of Us Research Program.
The recent months have challenged us once again to face the ongoing racism impacting our nation and our communities. We stand with Black communities across the country in confronting bias and injustice.
In many ways, the COVID-19 pandemic had made it even more clear that communities of color face the greatest risks. It has also exposed the differences in health care, access, and treatment. You became a part of the All of Us Research Program because you saw a chance to be part of research that can make a difference. Your voice, your participation, and your contributions have mattered each step along the way.
All of Us was founded with the core values that participation is open to all; that the rich diversity of the United States is one of our greatest strengths; and that you, our participant, walk with us as our partner. We seek to treat all with respect, dignity, and value, and to communicate often and clearly to earn your trust. These values remind us of why we’re here, and why the research we’re moving forward together is so important.
As you focus on taking care of yourselves, your families, and your communities, please know we hear you and we see you. This work we’ve started together can bring hope to our communities and to all of us.
With Care,
Josh Denny, M.D., M.S.
